How to be Great...

I've been listening to a lot of news lately. There are some scary stories out there, people doing irresponsible things, but I find there is always a gem hidden out there and search for the stories of those doing good. Which makes me ponder further: How do you encourage pupils to push themselves to greatness? Not just for their own personal gain, but so they leave a lasting, positive impression on our Earth. Is there a miracle lesson plan out there? Do I lead by example? Am I big enough to be the change I wish to see in the world?

Two Weeks to go!

I can't believe the countdown for the new school year has begun. I am eagerly anticipating the new school year and am hoping that I can collect all my thoughts from trainings and books read and concolidate them into a productive year of learning.

The Ever Changing World

I just read an interesting blog about a term called "global weirding" which refers to how the world is changing at such a fast rate that we are constantly being "weirded-out" by it. I recognize that sometimes it is hard to keep up wth the world we live in. I often feel unstable, not only personally, but professionally. It's hard to keep up, and I wonder what should I be doing in my classroom to prepare students for their future lives in a place that will most likely be totally different from what it is today. What skills will we need, and how will we acquire them?
